In late spring and early summer the city is immersed in greenery to such an extent that one can hardly see the buildings or something else behind the wall of trees. It is usually eerily silent in Pripyat, may be the only noises coming from the flies that constantly buzzed around, the sound of wind in the trees and the song of birds.
