The first settlers in this place were the Celtic tribe, Boii. This was the name that is given to Bohemia region. Other settlers that inhabited this place are the Marcomanni tribes, Lombard Tribe, and the Slavs. This was built during the mid of 11^th and 18^th centuries. It was in the middle ages that impressive monuments and buildings were built in this city which include the Hradcani Castle, Charles Bridge, Cathedral of St. Vitus, and other magnificent structures that made this city popular.

This is now one of the beautiful and most admired cities in the whole world. This city has been in existence for 1100 years now and there have been remarkable and historical buildings were built during these years. These important structures which are now still existing and become one of the prominent landmarks of the city Prague’s Castle, Hradcany square, Valdgtejn Palace, Romanesque Rotunda, St. James Church, and plan of Nave Mesto.

Prague which has become the cultural center in Europe is the home of many prominent people who made significant contributions in the world of politics as well as science which include Amadeus Mozart, Albert Einstein, Franz Kafka , Charles IV, Václav Havel, Jan Hus, Edvard Beneš, Petr Parléř, Johannes Kepler, Antonín Dvořák. Prague is composed of three historical separate cities and these are the Stare Mesto, Mala Strana, and the Nove Mesto. It was in the 9^th century that Prague Castle was erected on top of the hill which is extended to the left bank of the river. Opposite of this river bank is the Vyšehrad, second fortress was constructed. This has been made as the capital of the Bohemian in 973. In 1541 a catastrophic fire severely damaged the left bank and its condition has continuously declined in 1648 during war that lasted for thirty years. Many old buildings were removed because of the urban development in 1880. Some of endangered sites which are noteworthy and needs to be preserved include the Church of St Anne.
