The central Europe – the main place of its popularity. It was used until the late 1800′s. There are many variants of the chair. They all have one thing in common: arm-rests, leg-rests, spikes cover the back, seat and foot-rests. The number of spikes in one of these chairs ranges about from 400 to 2000. This torture wasn’t used a lot. In fact, it was rarely used. But when a person was sentenced to it, he’d find a way to prevent it.
